Klinikum Leer has been a reliable healthcare provider for the residents of East Frisia for 150 years and is also one of the largest regional employers. In recent years, almost all areas of the facility have been renovated or newly built, creating a state-of-the-art working environment for treatment and care. At its three 3 locations – in Leer, in Weener, and on Borkum – more than 1,300 employees in a total of 15 specialist departments look after the well-being of the patients. Every year, around 20,000 people are treated here as inpatients and a further 60,000 are treated as outpatients. The main focus is on cardiology, endoprosthetics, geriatrics, psychosomatics, spinal and vascular surgery, and pediatrics and adolescent medicine. Klinikum Leer is known supraregionally above all for its services in these areas. During the practical units as part of the clinical study section, all three hospital sites are open to our students.
